GUNSMOKE
Classic Radio Road Show

7:00pm
Gunsmoke, Chester’s Dilemma & Frontier Gentleman
Gunsmoke was decidedly adult in the subjects the characters wrestled with, and sometimes the bad guys didn’t get caught! The series ran on radio from 1952 until 1961! Gunsmoke originally starred William Conrad as Matt Dillon, US Marshal and John Dehner as JB Kendall, and aired in 1958.
In “Gunsmoke, Chester’s Dilemma”, Chester discovers he has an admirer, but fears she may have ulterior motives. Gunsmoke was a successful radio series before it became a beloved television show.
In “Frontier Gentleman, Beljoy’s Prisoner”, Kendall is a journalist traveling the West for stories to send back to The London Times. Here he’s arrested on suspicion of robbery and is made to give culture and deportment lessons to the daughter of the small town mayor/sheriff/executioner that holds him.
